Pet of the week. Sunday, February 19th

Family Day.
We are at our cabin at Murphy Lake, Saskatchewan.
Yesterday, we walked out into the frozen lake. Our friends and my husband did a little ice fishing and I visited.  Then we had a Bon fire and roasted hot dogs for supper.  Mmm.  This morning we woke up to snow.  Now, we will have to pack up and head home because my husband,  Roy, does snow removal.

This weeks pet is Cesar.  His puppy picture is so sweet. Unfortunately he had an autoimmune disorder, and passed away. He had a blue eye and s green eye.  Jennah, his owner told me that she read that the Native   Americans believed the different eye color in dogs meant they had "ghost eyes" that one eye could see heaven and the other Earth.

Pet of the Week February 5, 2017

After painting 30 pets in 30 days, I was reluctant to quit, so I thought I would post a Pet of the Week.

Today's pet was submitted by Jo Ann Comeau Mitio.  She referred to this dog as B-Dog.  I'm sure she'll give me more info.

30 paintings in 30 days Synopsis

I am thrilled that I was able to post every day, even with 8 days with 2 busy grandkids, a weekend in Edmonton, and few days at the cabin.

I learned a few things over the last 30 days, as well.
1. I can be much more organized and productive if I try.
2. I need more than 5 hours of sleep.
3. People love, love, love their dogs.
4. After 28 dogs, I still have trouble rendering a dog's nose properly.
5. I truly loved connecting with people, hearing so many stories of love and  rescue and how important pets are to a family.

30 paintings in 30 days.

Day 28
Wow, day 28.  I am so proud of my stick-to-itiveness........my perseverance.

We are at our cabin and my view is so lovely.  There's a fire in the wood stove, and the chickadees and squirrels are in the bird feeders. My husband had a little visit with a couple deer and all is right with the world.
We are enjoying a nice quiet weekend after a week of looking after our grandchildren.  (I do miss their smiling little faces though. ).
Today's painting is their dog, Milo.  He's a 14 year old Bichon Shih Tzu cross. He is our very first Granddog, and we love to pieces.

30 paintings in 30 days. Day 25

January 25
We are staying with our grandchildren, and two dogs and two cats, while our son and daughter in law are in the Dominican. (Lucky ducks). We are pretty lucky, too.  We love those little munchkins.   However, yesterday, they were both sick! So they stayed home from school.....we talked to their parents and they made the call, thank goodness.  As a result,  my painting ended up an after-bedtime event.
This is Brie, one of our  our granddogs.  We've bonded more over this last week. As a pup she would always jump in our fish pond (of course......she's a lab) upsetting the fountain and the fish. Lol.
She's matured and has much better manners now.  We had a fun photo session Sunday morning and she was so attentive, I got some great pictures.

Day 24
This is Charlie.  Crystal was working in Churchill, Manitoba, when she discovered Charlie in less-than idea circumstances.  She had a long train ride to her new, wonderful life!  I feel so fortunate that I get to hear the most amazing stories.

Day 18

We are staying with our grandchildren for the next 8 days, so we will see how many paintings I get posted. I tend to paint in the evening and for the 30 in 30, I've been going to bed about 2 or 3 AM. That won't be happening for the next 7 days. Those little people are busy and grandma better get some sleep to keep up!!

This is Kodiak.
You would think these would get easier, but this one was not.

30 paintings in 30 Days. day 16

Day 16 Wow!!  Over halfway.  I'm so happy I've made it this far.
Starting this coming weekend we will have our two grandchildren for a week. They are very active young people who (whom?  I'm never sure) we have to get to school, play  school, gymnastics,
Tai Kwon Do, etc........All of it starting early in the morning (which I find Challenging ) and they have to be on time (Another of my challenges ).
Wish me luck!  I do have to say that my husband is very  organized and on time and My daughter in law does it all the time.

So here is today's pet portrait. This is Oreo, he is Oliver's brother who was featured a few days ago.  His toy is "Roadkill Racoon". Hehe.

30 Paintings in 30 Days Day 7

January 7

Today's painting is my first feline in the 30 in 30.

This is Timmie, the fluffy, timid cat. His girl, Kylie rescued  him 7 years ago.  I was told that he was so tiny, he used to crawl under the stove and sleep in the drawer.

30 paintings in 30 days. Day 4

The photo inspiration for today's painting was sent to me by Tary.  She told me that this was Harley, possibly the worlds best granddog.  I was tickled pink by the photo, and I was inspired to create the background to look like the icing on a cupcake.

30 Paintings in 30 Days January 3. Day 3

When I decided to paint pet portraits I asked for submissions on Facebook and Instagram. The result was amazing, and they  continue to come in.
This little Yorkie is Sugar. How sweet is that?!  Lol. Sugar belongs to Kirbi and she got a new human sister this year.  She also has some fur siblings who may be featured later this month.
