30 in 30 Day 24

I wish this was my 24th painting to post this month, but I think I'm off by a couple.  Oh well, I am painting a ton!!  And some can't be posted yet because they are gifts.  Sooo, no big deal.  Today's painting is a little dog named Tyson.  He's a Shihtzu Pom cross, something I had never heard of before, but if I was getting a dog, this would be it!!  Talk about cute!  This guy is an animal actor, playing the part of Toto over 30 times live, on stage in Alberta.  Take a bow-wow, Tyson.
My photo has a bit of glare, as the paint is still wet in areas. lol

30 in 30 Day 23 ish

"Sidda"
12x12
acrylic on Canvas

Sidda is the beloved black lab of our dear friend, Dr. Heidi Potter, DMV.  Sidda and Heidi were together for years, and this year, after a husband and 2 little boys came onto the scene, Sidda passed away at a ripe old age.  She was an adored member of the family.
I searched the name Sidda, and came up with a character in the movie, Divine Secrets of the  Ya Ya Sisterhood.

"Van Goat"

acrylic on canvas
I have a friend who takes amazing pictures.  And she generously gave me permission to use her photos as references.  So I went into her Facebook feed and found this beauty.  The painting started off quite realistic, then I decided I wanted to try my hand at this colourful goat.  I am pretty sure it's a young mountain goat, that she took in Jasper Provincial Park, in Alberta Canada.
I am thrilled with how it turned out.
Thank you to Leslie-Anne Davidson for the photo.
Thanks to Jill Love Clark for the name.

The Bernese Mountain Dog

He is just a beautiful dog.  I had the pleasure of meeting his owner, Donnica, at a Women's conference and retreat.  She owns one of my angel wings paintings in memory of her dad, and now she's  looking forward to hanging Bauer's portrait.
Thank you so much, Donnica!!

After I finished this painting last night, I couldn't wait to start on my latest.  It's not really a pet, but it is an animal.

30 Paintings in 30 Days Day 18!!

This is Tucker.  He is a "big galoot" who was rescued in Edmonton by my neice, Nicole and her husband, Kam.  When they first got him he was very wary around kids.  But since George and Hunter came along, (and a soon to be sibling in July) he's just fine.  When they come to Murphy Lake, tucker loves to go running with Nicole and swimming for sticks.  He has the most expressive ears, too.  When he was younger, one always seemed to be up and one down.

30 Paintings in 30 Days Day 16

whoo hooo!!  Over half way!  This is Day 16.  I painted a really awesome pet portrait yesterday, and I will share it on Sunday.  It was commissioned as a gift..... Sooo, I had to paint an additional painting yesterday.  This little calf was born near Irma, Alberta just the other day.  Ashtyn sent me some great photos of the babies.  I think this would be the perfect artwork for the Fixer Upper Style, Joannna Gaines type decorating.  All white on white.
