"Bauer"
The Bernese Mountain Dog
12x12
acrylic on canvas

He is just a beautiful dog.  I had the pleasure of meeting his owner, Donnica, at a Women's conference and retreat.  She owns one of my angel wings paintings in memory of her dad, and now she's  looking forward to hanging Bauer's portrait.
Thank you so much, Donnica!!

After I finished this painting last night, I couldn't wait to start on my latest.  It's not really a pet, but it is an animal.

30 Paintings in 30 Days Day 16

whoo hooo!!  Over half way!  This is Day 16.  I painted a really awesome pet portrait yesterday, and I will share it on Sunday.  It was commissioned as a gift..... Sooo, I had to paint an additional painting yesterday.  This little calf was born near Irma, Alberta just the other day.  Ashtyn sent me some great photos of the babies.  I think this would be the perfect artwork for the Fixer Upper Style, Joannna Gaines type decorating.  All white on white.

Day 11.  This has been such a busy art week.  I had a tradeshow, taught a painting afternoon at my grandson's Kindergarten, finished a large custom angel wings painting, a not as large custom angel wings painting, 6 pet portraits, last night I painted live at the Little Italy Gala in support of the Lloydminster Sexual assault centre, and donated a custom painting for the live auction.... the winning bid was $900 ( I was thrilled) we danced til the wee hours,  and tonight I am teaching a small group of ladies an angel wings class.  Whew!!
Next week, I just plan to teach one class and paint for my 30in30.

"Deuce"
10x10
acrylic on canvas

Rolanda sent me a couple photos of their Schnauzer, Deuce.  Some where he was freshly groomed, but I loved the picture of him when his hair was a little longer.  I started with a teal background, then decided to make it dark...and I'm happy with the way it turned out.
I've known Rolanda her whole life, and I am honored to create another painting for her Art Collection.

Myla
12x12
Acrylic on Canvas

This is the third time I've chosen Pet Portraits as my theme for my 30 paintings in 30 Days Challenge, and  Maegan, Myla's owner has submitted her photo every time.  I have to say,  it took me a while to decide to paint her, and I love how it turned out.  The first background was flat pink, and I hated it.  Then I added some white, yellow and a bit of orange to it with some pattern play.  I think Myla will be pleased.
There you go, Myla!!

30 paintings in 30 days Day 22

Day 22
I was pretty excited to paint this dog.  Ang keeps posting photos of Stella, The Beauty Queen, each photo more priceless than the next.  http://instagram.com/aka_ang_
And I love Stella's unimpressed expression.  Because she's a beauty queen, I pictured her with a red feather boa, kind of like the Red Hat Ladies I've seen.
