8 x 10
Acrylic on Canvas
This would be a perfect gift for Mother's fact my mother-in-law planted this peony when my husband was born just before Mother's Day, in 1956.  He was premature, and very sick, and she had to leave him in the hospital in Saskatoon.  When she went home, she planted this peony.  It still grows today.  It has turned out to be as resilient as that baby boy....Roy.
A tribute to a mother's love.

Nest in a Tree

8 x 36
acrylic on canvas
painted on sides ready to hang
This unique sized painting would be a perfect Mother's Day gift.
The second photo shows detail of tree and nest.
I have to create my own spring!  I am sure it is just around the corner, but honestly, there piles of snow 5 feet high on our lawn.

Birch Grove

8 x 8
Acrylic on Canvas
available at my Etsy store

This little painting is the latest "tree" painting and the first to come out of my new studio space.
I am going to have to re-position some of the track lights.....found out that I have some shadows where I shouldn't when trying to paint.
Let's all put our hearts together and pray for spring!
"Winter, I am sorry, but I would like to start seeing other seasons.  It's not you, it's me."

Today I "organized" my studio.  We have been in our house for 3 years now and I have finally moved into the space that was supposed to be my studio.  Why has it taken me this long?  MMMM, I could make a list but mostly it would sound like a lot of whining.  So, no excuses, more lights on the track-lighting ( I can see way better now) and on the hunt for an antique hutch, or Hoosier cabinet, or china cabinet, something like that with a little more storage.  It's always fun to have something to be looking for, too.  Tired tonight, I'll post a couple pictures tomorrow of my "new" space.

The nest on this little painting is heavily textured and the eggs are richly speckled.

Another "tree" painting from me based on the forest near Murphy Lake, Saskatchewan.
The oil paint on this canvas is quite thick, in fact it wasn't quite dry when I was trying to photograph it.
If you are interested in a "tree" painting based on you color scheme, feel free to leave me a message.
Available for sale at my Etsy store.
Thanks for looking!
note* color and cropping are close to original as possible but not exact.

8 x 10
Acrylic on Canvas
Hello... The phone is ringing!!  It's for you.  We have this old phone (actually we have a couple of old for the yellow one) and I wanted to paint it.  I actually painted the entire canvas black then painted the negative space (the space that wasn't the phone) first.  It was a fun exercise. I love vintage things, things that have a story to them.  After my mother-in-law moved into her apartment and out of her big house
we got a bunch of vintage stuff...and it all has a story.

20 X 28
Acrylic on Canvas
When we were in Cuba, two years ago, I fell in love with the water.  I have always been a "water-baby"
but when I swam in the ocean at Varadero, it felt like a coming home.
Sounds corny, but it was very emotional.
We went on a bus tour to Havana, and I snapped picture after picture from the bus window as we travelled
along the coastline.  Most of the photos were blurry, but I kept them.
I am loving this aqua- turquoise color these days.
Hope you do, too.  This one is for all the water babies out there, especially Angie, Nicole, Chantel and Dawn!
Available at my Etsy store or you can leave a comment.
Thanks for visiting!

You're it!

You're it
8 x 10
acrylic on canvas

This little painting is just for fun!  I love these manilla tags....the texture and all the posibilities they hold.
I painted this canvas red first then the torquoise, then added the tag.
MMMMMM......what to put on the tag??.......Of course!
Then it made me think of all the fun games we played as kids,
tag, hide-and-go-seek, kick-the-can, (same thing, but depending on who you were playing with,
different rules.) Then it made me think of some of the other fun games we would play, too.
Like Truth or Dare and Spin the Bottle.
