Hello, followers and fans. I haven't been posting lately, but .........I'm back!!!!
This "Wings of Love" painting is called "Wings of Memory". It contains pages from the Wizard of Oz, antique books and antique music, and gold leaf. The background is a deep Gorgeous indigo blue. The colour of the heavens.
I was commissioned to create this painting for Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada
Held in Lloydminster January, 2014.
The art was used to create a banner for the event, and the original painting was auctioned off at the closing banquet.
The painting features a girl and boy, both wearing Lloydminster hockey jerseys. The girl is sporting a Canadian toque and the Lloydminster Border Markers are featured in the background.
My new friend, Jenny, brought me these chairs to paint. They belonged to her husbands grandmother and he is very sentimental about them. I got rid of the peeling paint, painted them both Heirloom White, then painted on them. The landscapes are reminiscent of area his family is from. The elevator, sunflowers and crab apple tree are things he remembers about growing up.
Its been a busy summer. Just completed a tree mural on a building in downtown Lloydminster.
It is actually in a busy alley way, just off the street. You meet sooo many interesting people that way!! How many people get to hear, "Great Job!" "Looks good!" "Great Work!" ...all day long? How can it get any better than that? I made some new friends and enjoyed these fabulous warm days of September!
