Where do I get these ideas???

I had committed to teach a class in a few weeks........

And I didn't have a clue what our painting would be.  The Collective Art Market, here in Lloydminster, is hosting a Sip and Paint Night and asked if I would facilitate it. I said "Yes", then Dawn asked me what we would paint.  

I had the hardest time coming up with a project.  I was brainstorming with my husband the other morning, and I said I wanted it to represent springtime.  We live in Canada, on the prairies, and winter is long.  I said Tulips, and my husband suggested clocks.  Click!!!  Put them together.  Yeah. Then he went to the store and bought me two bunches of tulips.

I'm back.

Hello, followers and fans. I haven't been posting lately, but .........I'm back!!!!

This "Wings of Love" painting is called "Wings of Memory".  It contains pages from the Wizard of Oz, antique books and antique music, and gold leaf. The background is a deep Gorgeous indigo blue. The colour of the heavens.

I love how these little wings came together.

I painted a pink heart shape then added the purple and blues,

Then glued on the antique music, some childrens prayers and poems.

A great baby gift.

I love how these wings came together.  These were done using my parents loveletters they exchanged while apart.  The got engaged after a short, three week, romance and will celebrate their 54th wedding anniversay in April.  The letters are filled with love and promises, hopes and dreams. 

I love the red lips she pressed to the top of the page with a little note that said "from me".

I have included the stamps and postage marks and some antique love songs, including "Tenderly"

Pen and ink finish off the painting with swirls and roses.

Leslie's Wings of Love - A Commission

These are Leslie Graham's Wings of Love

So great to work with her.

She brought me her Grandparents' love letters, her parents love letters, baby footprints and copies of their hospital braclets, letters from her family and music books from over the years.

Leslie is a Reiki Master, so I included some Reiki symbols, and orbs.

I felt honored to be a witness to all the love from the generations of her family.
