30 Paintings in 30 Days Day 8

Well, today is kind of a pet portrait, it's a commission that will be going to Ontario. These two birds have a special meaning to the recipient.  

I taught a very fun Birch Tree Class to eight fun ladies yesterday and painted this one last night.

The Raven 

We were on our way to the cabin a couple summers ago, and stopped for lunch at The Farmhouse in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan. While we were enjoying our meal, somebody called our attention to the Raven stealing our buns out of the back of our truck. We ran out to shoo it away and but I grabbed the camera to take some photos first. I got a couple blurry ones, perfect for the reference for this painting.
