Scottish Dance series number two

Part of the series I did for the Lloydminster Cross Border Scottish Dancers.  I really like this Sword Dance painting.

Scottish Dance Series

8 x 10 acrylic on canvas.

I did a series of fifteen paintings for the Cross Border Scottish Dance group.  They are hosting a competition here in Lloydminster on Sunday, and instead of giving trophies or plaques, will give paintings to the winners.  How cool is that.  I worked with Cara Zacharias to decide which subjects needed to be painted.  The shoes are ghillies,  (pronounced gillies)  and I realized that it can be quite difficult to paint plaid.

Milford Eugene Lets Play in the Leaves

Milford wants you to come out to play in the crisp fall air.  "Lets romp in the leaves?!"  he seems to say with his big brown eyes.
Available in my Etsy shop.
If you are located in Lloydminster, and would like to purchase this painting, leave me a comment, or message me on Facebook.
Thanks!

Castle at the Lake - Update

Don't kiss that frog, he has a fly in his mouth!

The view up at the top of the castle.

Its hard to get a good photo, because the room is pretty small, only 8 by 10, but big enough for a kingdom all their own. I still want to do some more painting, like adding some critters on the wall, maybe a friendly dragon, too.  And on the floor, maybe a moat, and a drawbridge, and some fishes in the moat and , and, and........ Oh, the possibilies!

Father Gorman School Mural

This Mural depicts four of the seven sacrements of the Catholic Church that the children in elementary school would experience,
Baptism, Reconcilliation, First Communion and Confirmation.
I was to paint a colorful, multi-cultural scene.
I added hidden symbols and words in the mural foreground, such as "forgive", "blessed", etc.

Castle at the Lake

I couldn't resist posting these pictures.  I will post photos of the finished room soon.  Roy and I built bunkbeds in the spare room in our cabin at the lake.  We have one granddaughter/princess named Addisen, and a new baby grandchild due any day.
How much fun will they have playing in the castle?  The green "grass" on the lower part of the wall is chalkboard paint so you can draw on the walls.
And I have been collecting costumes for the little princesses and knights that come to visit the kingdom.  Thanks Koree for your contribution of two lovely dresses and matching shoes!!
What fun!
This is my mom, Marge, an artist, too. She is painting the far off kingdom.
She doesn't look like a Great Grandma, does she?
I love that we all worked together to make this wonderful space.

Rick and Julie Harper just welcomed Haley Elizabeth on Wednesday, Sept 21st, 2011.  Congrats!
They are building a new home, so these paintings will be able to move with them.  I like the stripes on the sides. : )
