"Van Goat"

12x12

acrylic on canvas

I have a friend who takes amazing pictures.  And she generously gave me permission to use her photos as references.  So I went into her Facebook feed and found this beauty.  The painting started off quite realistic, then I decided I wanted to try my hand at this colourful goat.  I am pretty sure it's a young mountain goat, that she took in Jasper Provincial Park, in Alberta Canada.

I am thrilled with how it turned out.

Thank you to Leslie-Anne Davidson for the photo.

Thanks to Jill Love Clark for the name.

30 paintings in 30 Days. Day 9

January 9th, 2017

Today's painting is of a sweet little dog named Rusty. I think he looks like a tiny Chewbacka. Hehe.

I have always been a night person as I think many creatives are.  However, I need to start painting earlier in the day because I've had waaaaaay too many 3 AM nights lately.
