The Clock

This is at the "Harvest to Home Market" in their entertainment room. Gail purchased a clock ( in the center) but she thought it was too small for the wall she wanted to hang it on, so I painted around it! I think it looks very cool. I love clocks and I happen to have a few around our house. Which one shall I paint around.......hmmmm.

Luxx Hair Salon

These are painted at Luxx Hair Salon in Lloydminster, near the south Tim's.  It was tricky getting the facial proportions correct.  In fact, the first version looked like Sarah Jessica Parker, eyes too close together and long nose and face.  I like this version much better .

The writing is definitely on the wall.

Paint, Paint, Paint...paint!

I have been working on this BIG project for a long time.  It's in Ulmer Chevrolet's showroom in Lloydminster.  It consists of a mural painted directly on the walls, then 6 large canvases painted and hung ontop of the mural.  The clocks signify luxury, time ( as a reference to the vintage automobiles) and it's time to buy a new car.  Also, I love clocks. I learned a lot about cars, too.

"The Door"

This framed acrylic on canvas painting is 36 x 24 inches. My husbands family have a farm that is over 100 years old. The old house is still standing, although the kitchen has fallen into the cistern. This is one of the doors, without a knob. I had a hard time photographing this painting without a glare.

This painting is available at the "Harvest to Home Market" in Lloydminster.
If you haven't been there, you need to go.

The Poppy Garden

I wish inspiration would come in time to go to bed at a descent hour!  I finished this painting at 2:00 a.m. but I was all fired up and couldn't go to sleep.  This is one of four paintings that will hang in the "Harvest to Home Market" in their entertainment room.  They are all for sale, too!  http://www.harvesttohomemarket.ca/

Harvest to Home Market

This mural is painted on a "blackboard" background. It's at the new "Harvest to Home Market" which will be opening soon. A wonderful idea of local food, fresh baked goods, grind your own flour, have a cup of coffee or take a cooking class....and so much more. Can't wait Tami and Gail. Check out their website at www.harvesttohomemarket.ca
The cookbooks were my husbands grandmothers and date to about the 1930's

Commission

This was a commission for a little boy's baptism. I have done lots of hockey murals but this was the first one on canvas. And the little guy's name is Drew, just like our "little" boy.

The Door

Here is another painting based on my trip to New York. We were on a "shopping tour" (don't you love it?) and were led to an old church that had been turned into a designers market. There was clothing, jewelry, hats, art....it was amazing. This brick wall surrounded a church just down the street. The old metal door had rusted beautifully. It had so much character. Just had to paint it. A birthday gift for a friend.

Hanging out in the Graveyard!!?

Honest, this is me this afternoon, October 13, painting on a grave marker. A touching story, really. The man that contacted me to paint is the son of the stone mason who carved this headstone in 1908. He come to look at the headstone a couple of years ago, only to find that it had fallen over. He had someone come in to stand it and set it in cement, then spent hours scrubbing and cleaning the cross and the inscription. He asked me to paint within the carved letters to make them more pronounced. I forgot my camera so asked him to take a photo with my cell phone. I was laying on my tummy on top of "Albert Curtis's" grave. He passed away at the age of 39 in 1907. I said "Sorry, Albert, I hope you don't mind." Sure glad it was fairly warm today!

"Callas"
24 X 30
300.00
Acrylic on Canvas

I had so much fun with this painting. I actually painted it on top on another one that I didn't want anymore, and I used a palette knife for most of it. The calla lilies I bought to use as a reference didn't last very long, but the painting will.
Enjoy!
